How to Setup a Webstore

If you’ve bought anything online, chances are that you’ve probably purchased it through some type of webstore. Ebay, Amazon, and Esty, they are all webstores that allow their users to post items on their site.

Which is possible with DevSpace, today, we’ll be covering how to create a basic webstore and how to add a couple of items.

Step 1: Enable the Plugin

To enable the WooCommerces plugin, login to your site’s admin dashboard, and click on plugins.

Once you’re there, in the search bar, type in WooCommerces, then click search. The search results should display only the WooCommerces plugin. Then click activate to activate the plugin on your site.

Step 2: Activate the Storefront Theme

After you activate the WooCommerces plugin, on the sidebar click on Appearance, which should display a list of themes. In the search bar in the top left-hand corner of your screen, type in Storefront. Click on the picture that looks like the screenshot below. A window will popup, then click the blue activate button at the bottom center of your screen which will activate the Storefront theme.

Step 3: WooCommerces Settings

Ok, this is the sort of boring part where you have to configure your store’s country, currency, and tax setting. Most of it is pretty straightforward and easy to accomplish with the right information.

And since the folks over at WooThemes can explain it better than I can, I’ll hand you off to them to cover step three and four.

Step 4: Listing & Managing Products

Now it’s time for the fun part! It’s time to start creating product categories and listing your items. And once again, the folks over at WooThemes can explain it better than I can, so I’ll hand you off to them to cover step four.
